The Battle of Badr: A Turning Point in Islamic History

The Battle of Badr, fought on the 17th of Ramadan in the second year of Hijrah (624 CE), stands as one of the most significant events in early Islamic history. It marked the first major battle between the Muslims of Medina, led by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the Quraysh of Mecca.

Though vastly outnumbered—313 Muslims against about 1,000 Quraysh—the Muslims were victorious. This triumph was seen not only as a military success but also as a spiritual one. It boosted the morale of the early Muslim community and affirmed their faith and unity.
